Trauma Therapy
When the past won’t stay in the past
Trauma doesn’t always come from one big, obvious event. Sometimes it’s years of walking on eggshells, never feeling safe, or being dismissed when you needed support. Sometimes it’s something that shouldn’t have happened — and sometimes it’s something important that never did.
You may not even think of your experience as “trauma,” but you feel the effects in your body and your relationships:
You’re always waiting for something bad to happen
You feel disconnected or numb — like you’re going through the motions
You’re overly alert or easily overwhelmed
You avoid people, situations, or memories that trigger strong reactions
You shut down or lash out without meaning to
You might not have the words, but something in you knows: this isn’t how life is supposed to feel.

What Trauma Can Look Like
Trauma shows up differently for everyone, but common signs include:
Flashbacks or intrusive memories
Anxiety, panic, or emotional flooding
Trouble sleeping or nightmares
Difficulty trusting others
Feeling like you're "too much" or "not enough"
Chronic guilt, shame, or self-blame
Disconnect between what you know and what you feel
You’re not broken — you adapted.
What you’re experiencing isn’t weakness. It’s a natural response to overwhelming stress. Your brain and body did what they had to do to survive. Now, those same protective patterns may be getting in the way of the life you want to live.
Therapy helps you understand those patterns, reconnect with your inner resilience, and create safety in your body, mind, and relationships.

Trauma doesn’t define you. What happened to you matters — but it’s not the whole story. You can feel grounded again. You can trust your body and your relationships. You can move forward without fear being in the driver’s seat.
