Anxiety Therapy
When your mind never lets you rest
Anxiety has a way of taking over. It keeps you up at night, overthinks every conversation, makes you second-guess your instincts, and floods your body with worry that won’t let up — even when nothing seems wrong.
Maybe you feel it physically: a racing heart, tight chest, trouble breathing, or stomach problems. Or maybe your anxiety is more mental — constant worry, spirals of “what ifs,” difficulty concentrating, or feeling like your brain never quiets down.
You might find yourself avoiding certain situations — conversations, decisions, places, people — in hopes that the anxiety will go away. And sometimes it does... for a little while. But then it comes back. And you start to feel stuck, unsure how to break the cycle.
Understanding the Anxiety Cycle
Anxiety often traps us in a loop of fear → discomfort → avoidance → short-term relief → more fear.
It might look like this:
You feel anxious about attending a social event
You cancel last-minute
You feel instant relief
The next time a similar situation comes up, the fear is even stronger
Avoidance reinforces anxiety. The brain learns that avoiding = safety, which keeps you in survival mode — and keeps your world feeling smaller. Over time, this can leave you feeling frustrated, disconnected, and defeated.
You’re not broken. Your nervous system is trying to protect you.
Anxiety isn’t your fault — it’s a protective response rooted in fear. Sometimes, that fear is obvious. Other times, it’s subtle and buried deep. Your brain and body are simply doing what they’ve learned to do: scan for danger and try to avoid it.
Therapy helps you interrupt this cycle, get curious instead of reactive, and build a more supportive relationship with yourself.
